UKCP Trustee

About the role

We’re seeking two passionate and forward-thinking lay trustees to join our Board. As a trustee of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of mental health services and public protection.

By 'lay,' we mean individuals outside the health or psychological professions and not UKCP members or employees. Whether your background is in corporate governance, employment law, or public relations, your expertise will help guide our mission.

Join us at this pivotal moment as we launch our three-year strategy, 'Psychotherapy in a Changing World'. You’ll help craft a delivery plan focused on enhancing member experiences, refining governance, and adapting to new employment legislation, all while ensuring sustainable and impactful growth.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a cause addressing society’s growing need for diverse, high-quality mental health services
  • work alongside inspiring professionals in a collaborative environment
  • contribute to public interest while honing your leadership and mentoring skills.

About UKCP

As the UK’s leading professional body for psychotherapists, we represent over 9,000 individual therapists working across private practice, the NHS, and voluntary sectors, championing diverse approaches to psychotherapy.

How to apply

Please email your CV and a covering letter by 5pm on Friday 10 January 2025 outlining any relevant skills and experience you have to Alex Crawford, UKCP governance manager, at: alex.crawford@ukcp.org.uk
