My Approach

An embodied and creative person- centred psychotherapist working with an integrative approach with a focus on the body mind connection.

About Me

I am a Humanistic Dance Movement Psychotherapist, focusing on the body-mind connection and the creative process as a tool of re-connection, expression and communication. With the therapeutic relationship at the core of the work, I enable a creative, embodied and permissive space for emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual connections to be made, and for the individual to gain a sense of empowerment and purpose. I have 20 years experience of working with groups and individuals of all ages with a range of emotional, psychological and additional needs.

I work with

  • Families
  • Groups
  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have experience working with adults and children with ASD, dance movement psychotherapy enables people who are neurodivergent and have alternative ways of seeing and understanding the world, creative, non-verbal and alternative ways of expressing themselves and finding their unique place in an often confusing and fearful environment.
I have experience working with people with anorexia and over eating and recognise this as a physical manifestation of trauma and emotional distress, therefor an embodied and compassionate approach is taken to exploring and understanding the purpose of the eating disorder.
I have worked with people with a variety of mental health issues usually outside of the medical system, within the charitable sector. Therefor there is an eagerness for people to be treated and seen beyond their diagnosis and to explore their mental ill health from a more creative and embodied approach, finding alternative ways to express their emotional distress and psychological states.
I offer creative clinical supervision to individuals and groups, exploring practice from a somatic perspective and inviting yourself the practitioner to be present within the supervision space.
I currently practice 1 day a week within hospicecare where I facilitate group work with people who have a terminal diagnosis. We focus on agency, identity outside of illness, taking control over ones body, collective and creative expression of grief and loss, transitioning from mind to body and re-accessing play.
