My approach is integrative; I am keen to match the way I work with the client I meet, and to be open and flexible. My priority is to help you understand your patterns in life, and find new ways where these are not working. As well as working with adults, I have accrued a lot of experience of working with young people and would welcome them into my practice.
I have worked in the field of counselling and psychotherapy for 30 years and have practised extensively in the private, voluntary and public sectors, dealing with a wide range of issues.
I am accustomed to providing counselling on a short term and long term basis. In particular, with the constraints of modern living and budgets, I am interested in providing a service that can address very specific issues such as decision making, work-related stress, a space to sort through practical problems, and the opportunity to explore patterns of behaviour and thinking. Equally, I am happy to work with long-term issues such as relationship problems, anxiety, depression and much more.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
