My Approach

You may be seeking out psychotherapy or counselling for one of many different reasons such as relationship issues, problems at work, life changes and transitions, feelings of depression, childhood trauma, or feeling low self-confidence or self-worth. Or perhaps the reason may simply be that something feels out of tune. 

​My integrative psychotherapeutic approach is a talking and embodied approach. Narratives and words are important, so are the sensations in our bodies, imagery, as well as our intuition.

I believe integration to be a full body experience and in sessions I may respectfully invite you to explore being creative perhaps through play, movement or imagination. 

Whatever your reason for seeing out psychotherapy and counselling, I believe it is important to find a therapeutic approach that suits you, and a psychotherapist with whom you feel comfortable.

About Me

I'm Gemma, an Integrative psychotherapist and counsellor. I have a Masters Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy from the Sherwood Institute, Nottingham. I offer a safe, welcoming space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences. My work is relational, meaning that the relationship between myself and my clients is an important aspect of the therapy. 
I work online and also in person from Heanor, Derbyshire.
​In addition to private practice, I also work as a consultant psychotherapist for a therapeutic fostering agency, supporting social workers and foster parents with a therapeutic approach to fostering.
