I am a Gestalt psychotherapist. This approach seeks to raise awareness of who and how you are in relation to others. Greater awareness allows for a more informed choice of being in the relation with others.
My work encompasses a wide range of issues of anxiety and difficulties, dilemmas and confusions. Inclusive to this are matters of depression, loss, change and relationships.
We are all worthy and valuable and you are too, and also unique - there really is only one of you. I recognise and hold respect for where you are in your own place in the world and work from your perspective. Combining this with the perspective I can bring to our developing relationship that encompasses listening respectfully, patiently and reflectively with empathy and acceptance my approach is to help you to find your answers to the questions, confusions, and difficulties that have led you to this point and place.
I work in private practice, in Lichfield and in Nottingham; offering therapy and supervision. My fee for psychotherapy is £65 per session; currently I am not taking on any more supervisees.
My work has covered a wide range of issues that include relationship difficulties; life choices and meanings; difficulties and pressures of life choices, personal styles of living and behaviour.
I approach this work from a position of wanting to know about you; how you see the world, how you make sense of what is happening with the intent that through our talking together you learn more about yourself. What this means is I work with you to help you increase your awareness of how you both perceive and interact in the world. This will allow you to find new insights and ways of being that are more truly you.
I don’t measure, nor compare, nor label. You are a unique individual striving to cope and manage. I offer a safe, confidential and supportive place in which therapy is provided as a means to support you to help you.
I have an MA in Gestalt Psychotherapy from Birmingham University having trained with the Sherwood Training Institute in Nottingham.
