Counselling, psychotherapy and clinical supervision in Archway, Finsbury Park and London Bridge
I have been working with individuals and groups for the last twenty years and have been in clinical practice since 2007.
I would describe my orientation as psychoanalytic from within a contemplative perspective. By this I mean that I subscribe to the idea of an unconscious and believe that events and attitudes from early life can impact on our lives today. I understand that an awareness of these currents helps to increase the choices available to us. Yet I also know, as a long-time meditator, that paying attention in a non-judgemental fashion enables previously unbearable experiences to be borne and new possibilities discovered. I provide a safe space in which these experiences can be explored.
I have worked for many years within NHS hospitals so also understand the challenges of working in large organisations.
I work with many issues including:
abuse
ADHD
addiction
autistic spectrum
anxiety
bereavement
bipolar disorders
confusion
depression
emptiness
isolation
obsession and obsessive compulsive disorder
personality disorder
psychosis and psychotic episodes
relationship issues
searching for a sense of meaning
sexual identity
spiritual crises
struggling with conflict and indecision
trauma
