My approach is integrative and led by what you bring, focused on your aims for therapy and what might be helpful. I blend several theoretical models (including psychodynamic, attachment, systemic and body psychotherapy) aiming to look at the person a whole.
I believe that our past shapes us and that early relationships might influence our way of developing relationships with significant others in the present. Therapy offers an opportunity to develop new ways of relating with others and oneself.
I work with the bodymind (thoughts, feelings and physical experience) encouraging mindfulness of our full experience. Being present to the fullness of our experience opens us to healing and change.
I believe that wider social and cultural dynamics and contexts outside the therapy room influence our experience and sense of identity. I might explore how these dynamics affect what we bring to therapy.
The most important aspect of therapy is the relationship we will develop: this will allow you to explore your experience, feelings, the inner conflicts you might have. I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space. I hope to encourage openness between us and welcome your feedback.
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist. I hold a Master’s in integrative counselling and psychotherapy. I currently work for Mind in Enfield and Barnet where I manage two counselling services and I deliver Bereavement Awareness Training to the community. I also worked as a relationship counsellor for Relate London North West, Hertfordshire, Mild Thames & Buckinghamshire.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
