My main psychotherapeutic approach is gestalt, which considers the mind and body together, and how the past impacts current experiences. I also draw on psychodynamic theory. Therapy sessions are weekly, and I usually work with clients over a period of months or years.
As a Psychotherapist who works with adults, I offer an honest and compassionate relationship in which I hold no preconceptions or expectations of you. Through dialogue and exploration, I can support you to find new ways of thinking, feeling, and understanding yourself which will enable you to manage the challenges that you face.
I have experience working with people who have been oppressed because of difference and diversity. I also have experience of working with people who have suffered loss, trauma (including historic trauma and abuse) and people who are currently experiencing anxiety and depression. My training has equipped me to support people through whatever life experiences they are faced with.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
