I am an experienced systemic family psychotherapist and supervisor in private practice. Completed a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies, specialising in integrating systemic approaches with Buddhist psychology. Had 13 years of clinical experiences in various London based CAMHS and AMHS (child, adolescent and adult mental health services) within the NHS (National Health Service) England. Skilled in working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families facing relational and mental health difficulties, including mood disorders and eating disorders. An Editorial Board member of the Journal of Family Therapy. Also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for children and adolescent, motivational interviewing, and registered as a systemic supervisor to provide individual/group retrospective/live supervision. Since 2023 moved my practice base to Singapore but still able to offer therapy and supervision online worldwide. Since May 2024 ordained as a Buddhist monk. Aspired to integrate systemic practices with Buddhist psychology in the areas of spiritual, forensic and mental health care.
I have worked with presenting issues including eating disorders, OCD, anxiety disorders, depression, relationship conflicts and other minority, social and mental health struggles. I have experiences in providing live/retrospective group/individual supervision for multi-disciplinary practitioners including psychotherapists, clinical psychologists, nurses, social workers and psychiatrists. I had volunteering experiences as a counsellor/family therapist for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) individuals and families in London and Singapore.
I can be contacted at yang.systemic@gmail.com.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
