As an existential therapist I work with the notion that life is both great and difficult at the same time and everyone desires happiness and a meaningful life. Each of us has experienced psychological and emotional distress as it is inevitable part of ‘being alive’. I will offer you a safe and non-judgemental environment where you can explore how your distress and difficulties affect you, what meaning they have for you and how you could manage them in your own unique way as there is not a one-size fits all solution.
Therapy as a collaborative and unique process will increase your self-awareness and self-understanding which will cast light on the unreflective and repetitive patterns of relating to yourself and others. Therefore, it is in therapy where you can start relating to your difficulties, yourself and others in a different way and make changes to your life so you can live more fully and meaningfully.
The therapist-client relationship is crucial, therefore we use the initial session to determine if we can work together. If you feel I am not the right therapist for you I can refer you to someone else.
I am a qualified Existential Psychotherapist accredited by the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy and member of Society for Existential Analysis.
I trained for five years at Regent’s University London, completing the Postgraduate Diploma and the Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling. I abide by the code of ethics of the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy.
In addition to my private practice I work with bereaved clients at St. Joseph Hospice in Hackney and lead group therapy sessions at Claremont Project in Islington.
I had worked for 12 years with people with mental health issues and learning difficulties before becoming a psychotherapist.
