My integrative approach is ever evolving and tailored to the unique person I am working with. I draw from and combine several different theoretical models, including psychodynamic, humanistic and existential, object relations, attachment theory, relational psychoanalysis, cognitive approaches, body psychotherapy, and energy psychology. My core approach is relational-developmental, which means I am interested in how we develop a sense of who we are in infancy through our interactions with others, and in how these patterns can often be obstacles to our flourishing as adults. I believe that a safe, nurturing therapeutic relationship, and how we build that together, is central to any growth and change.
I am able to work with a wide range of issues, but have particular interest, experience and training in trauma (especially sexual violence and abuse), bullying, post-traumatic stress, neurodiversity (ADHD, autism, giftedness), life transitions and spiritual development, workplace and parental stress, bereavement and other grief processes. I have experience working with a very broad range of clients in terms of age (18-80+), background, gender, race, religion, sexuality, neurodivergence, physical abilities/disabilities and mental health diagnoses.
Hello, I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist and counsellor working from a quiet garden room in Coventry, as well as online. My primary focus is on helping you to thrive, to feel at ease, and to make sense of your past and present as a whole person.
Looking for a therapist is a courageous step, and the task of choosing the right person can be daunting. I offer a free, no-obligation initial meeting (30 mins), either in-person or online, so that we can explore the possibility of working together. You can contact me by email at touchearthpsychotherapy@gmail.com or by phone on 07599 225 085.
I hold an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from the University of Warwick (distinction), and before setting up a private practice I worked as a counsellor at Coventry Centre for Rape and Sexual Abuse (CRASAC), The Shakespeare Hospice in Stratford-upon-Avon, and Queen Alexandra College, a national college for young adults with autism and/or physical disabilities.
My background and ongoing parallel career are in academia, in the field of Latin and Greek literature (MA, MPhil, Cambridge; PhD London). I have also practiced Reiki since the mid-1990s, and qualified as a Master practitioner in 2021.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
