My Approach

Hi, I'm Vicky, welcome to my profile; I offer therapeutic support for all ages. I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor for adults and Psychotherapist for children and adolescents.

My aim is to provide helpful strategies you can practice from the outset, whilst processing whatever it is that you need, developing your own resources for healing and fulfilment. I offer time limited sessions; mid or longer-term therapy, supporting all ages, either online, over the telephone or face-to-face in Oving, near Chichester.

As an integrative therapist I have a ‘toolkit’ of different theories and methods depending on what you need, for example, you may:-

• Need some space to talk things through, such as a bereavement, a life change or problem.
• Would like to focus on improving self-esteem and practical ways to feel more assertive.
• Become better able to manage behaviours.
• Feel distressed, overwhelmed or disconnected and benefit from having some time so that you can feel heard, validated and understood.
• Require support with boundaries and feeling more in control. Perhaps you would like to prioritise your own needs so that you feel more confident and better able to say ‘no’.
• Wish to learn strategies to understand triggers and tolerate uncertainty so that you manage stress and anxiety.
• Want to focus on a specific goal, such as improving health or sleep, building confidence or getting a new job.
• Benefit from relaxation strategies, such as breathing and mindfulness techniques that can be used after the session.
• Want to understand how thoughts, feelings and behaviours are connected, to gain solutions, such as anxiety reduction or working through a phobia or obsession.
• Wish to explore the past and how it impacts on the present, such as a traumatic event or childhood expriences.
• Find talking difficult and prefer to use art and creativity, such as drama, painting, clay or sand. These techniques can aid expression and can be especially useful if you ‘can’t find the words’ for a specific event or if you have a creative outlook.
• Wish to focus on your relationship style and how these impact on your behaviour.
• Like some help to understand your child/ren and improve family life.
• Notice that there are different parts of yourself that are in conflictor seem to be taking control, such as an inner critic and you would like some strategies to manage this.

There may be another approach you would like to try, just give me a call or message and we can discuss this.

Regardless of the modality, I will always aim to provide an emotionally warm, calming environment so that you feel as comfortable as possible.
