As a trained Integrative Psychotherapist and Psychodynamically trained Art psychotherapist I can help you to work through crisis and emotional difficulties in a creative way. In a safe confidential and non-judgemental setting we can explore and reflect on any problem areas and find ways of understanding the causes for these difficulties and finding ways of resolving them.
Integrative Psychotherapy works towards an integration of Emotions, Body and Mind in an individual way. Current views of yourself , ways of relating and problem areas are often linked to the past, which we would talk about in the sessions. If you wish to work with the art materials then this creative work can offer access to unconscious areas by doing concrete and symbolic work in the sessions. Ultimately Psychotherapy and Art psychotherapy help to gain a greater quality of life, gain greater self awareness, develop creativity and feeling more fully alive.
I have extensive experience of working in Community Mental Health settings and in the Addiction field in the Public sector and voluntary organisations. Over the last ten years I have also worked in Private Practice.
I have done training in 'Working with Trauma' and also have undertaken 'Infant Observation' and supervision training for Art psychotherapists. I have experience in offering Mindfulness strategies for anxiety ,stress and depression. I offer supervision to Counsellors ,Psychotherapists and Art psychotherapists.
In a first session, we can discuss whether you would like to come just for a few sessions or over a longer period of time. A session lasts for 50 minutes and the charge is between £65-75 per session with some concessionary places.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
