My Approach

My name is Swar Muhammed, a qualified Transactional Analysis psychotherapist, and counsellor. I am a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy, (UKCP), the BACP, and The European Association of Transactional Analysis, (EATA).

I offer a safe and supportive space where you can explore your challenges and work towards your goals at your own pace. I am here to listen to you without judgment, and to help you to find your own solutions.

I see psychological difficulties as our best effort to secure contact. As a Relational Transaction Analysis therapist, I think that the human personality forms in the context of stories of contact with others. From the moment we are born, we tussle to secure our most basic needs. The qualities of contact and what it takes to secure it shape our relationships with ourselves as well as with others, sometimes sacrificing what gives us vitality, and psychological and emotional problems. Unattended, we continue in adulthood to repeat these stories, even the unhealthy ones, resulting in our continued suffering.

Therefore, in my work with you, I will maintain a curiosity about the qualities that emerge between us in our relationship to find out with you your story of survival, with, or without sufficient contact. In time, this process will offer you the opportunity to heal old wounds, mourn your losses, and re-discover forgotten parts that become valuable sources of wisdom and knowledge to create a life that is right for you.

About Me

Hi, I'm Swar, a UKCP-accredited Transactional Analysis psychotherapist. I speak English and Arabic.
