My Approach

As a therapist, my top priority is offering a safe space for you to be seen and heard.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process. There is usually a reason to seek therapy, and that is our starting point. My role is to help you explore how your past may be impacting your present-day life, and to look forward in how we can make more purposeful and meaningful choices.

I work in a trauma-informed way, which means that I work with an awareness of potential or actual trauma in a client's past, but understand that this does not necessarily need to be the focus of your therapy.

Clients come to me for many reasons, including having experienced trauma, major life changes, relationship difficulties, work-related issues, low mood or feelings that life has lost meaning and purpose.

About Me

First of all hello, my name is Suzi, I am an integrative psychotherapist with an interest and experience in trauma, relational issues, anxiety and the effects of long-term illnesses, in particular Type one diabetes.

I conducted my training in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at London’s Regents University, I am accredited with the UKCP, and am a registered member of the BACP. This means I abide by their code of ethics.

Previously working as a psychotherapist within the NHS, I spoke with a range of adult patients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, past trauma or relationship issues. I also worked in a University, offering students short term therapy. Previous to this I have experience in the charity sector.

I run a private practice based in Surbiton that offers psychotherapy and counselling to individuals seeking help through face to face, video or telephone sessions.

Prior to my psychotherapeutic training and qualifications, I worked in the journalism industry, therefore I empathise and have an understanding of the busy, competitive and demanding nature the media world entails.

I work with

  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger than to relatives or friends. I can give you the space to talk, cry or just think.
Having personal experience of a long-term illness I can offer a non-judgemental and safe place to talk about the effects it has on you and your relationships.
By looking together at the impact your past experiences has on your present relationships, we can build a clearer picture for you.
I work in a trauma - informed way, which means that I work with an awareness of potential or actual trauma in a client's past, but understand that this does not necessarily need to be the focus of your therapy.
