My Approach

I have trained for 15 years in Transactional Analysis, starting with my TA101 in April 2007, gaining my Certified Transactional Analyst qualification in 2016, my MSc in Psychotherapy from Middlesex University in 2017, and my Teaching & Supervising Transactional Analyst Certification from the International Transactional Analysis Association in 2021.
I am the founder and Director of the Psychotherapy Institute located in the north of Greater Manchester which offers a 4 year part-time Level 7 training leading to UKCP Registration through the UK Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA). https://www.psychotherapyinstitute.co.uk
I run several on-line and in-person Supervision Groups and am a Registered UKCP Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor.

About Me

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Any relationship between a child and adult has a power imbalance - when this power is used oppressively in any way: physically, emotionally, psychologically or sexually; the child suffers trauma and abuse. I have worked since 2009 with victims of childhood abuse and trauma; also offering groups for female survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
An adoptee myself, I have written and taught workshops on the subject of adoption and psychotherapy over the past decade.
I have provided family therapy since 2009 - based on my systemic TA training. Whether mediating estrangement issues; transgender or sexuality issues; separation issues (divorce / moving away from home); family bereavement; affects of affairs on the family - you will find a space where the each family members voice is heard and accounted. I have written about this topic and Transactional Analysis and my first piece was published in the Transactional Analyst in 2017.
Psychotherapy Institute (based in Greater Manchester) is a 4 year part-time PG Diploma (Level 7) leading to Registration as a UKCP Psychotherapist. www.psychotherapyinstitute.co.uk
