I recognise how hard it can sometimes be to make that first step to seek help with emotional and psychological difficulties. I, therefore, aim to reach for a highly attuned and empathic relationship with my patients/clients in a safe, confidential and containing environment.
Having completed a long training, attaining a Masters Degree in Psychotherapy and registration as an adult psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), I have, in addition, completed a further training at the Tavistock Centre and am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) as an adult psychotherapist.
I predominantly work psychodynamically, informed by psychoanalytic theory. Although I tend to work long-term, I also take on short-term interventions.
I run my own discreet private practice in Mill Hill, London, NW7.
I not only bring experience of working with adults in NHS settings (St. Bartholomew's Hospital, Edgware Community Hospital and The Tavistock Clinic), but I also have a background in education (holding an M.A. in Education) and special education with a specialism in dyslexia and dyspraxia. This has enhanced my understanding of psychological development and the struggles within individuals, families and children.
I have a special interest in pre- and post-natal depression and using psychotherapy to promote the earliest relationship with mothers and babies who are experiencing difficulties. I have worked in a Mother and Baby Inpatient Unit for acute cases at the Central Middlesex Hospital.
I am also a fully trained Parent- Infant Psychotherapist (the Anna Freud Centre).
I am a Visiting Lecturer at the Tavistock Clinic; run Infant Observation Seminars at the Anna Freud Centre and through the Sino-British Project.
