I am now using the name 'Steph', the gender pronouns 'They/Them' and identifying as Non-binary.
I offer a compassionate and safe space where you can explore new ways to relate to yourself, loved ones and the world in general. We all have a need to be loved and to share our love with another. I believe that through learning to love and be loved we can heal the wounds that keep us apart from our true selves and learn to relate to others in a more healthy and intimate way.
Many of us in the modern world feel lost, isolated, despondent and hurt. This can manifest in many ways through relationship issues, the inability to find true love, separation and divorce, anxiety, depression, family issues, addictions, affairs and betrayals, phobias, low self-esteem or stress. I believe that in amongst the pain and suffering their is hope. Each of us can move beyond our wounding and find a more balanced way of being. There is enough love in the world - if only we can learn to open to it.
I like to work in a relaxed, friendly and collaborative style. I believe that one of the most important aspects to therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. I'm not an old school stand-offish therapist who will silently wait for you to work it all out for yourself. I like to work with my clients to get the energy moving so we can get to the real heart of their troubles. I want you to feel empowered within the process because I think that's when real change occurs.
I am a UKCP Accredited Psychosynthesis Psychotherapist. Psychosynthesis as an approach provides a broad enough context to hold and work with a person's historical wounding and life crises, as well as their hopes and dreams.
I am LQBTQ+, poly and kink friendly.
If you have any questions at all, please give me a call or drop me an email and I'd be happy to discuss them with you.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
