I am trained in existential phenomenological psychology and psychotherapy. I also draw on ACT and Mindfulness.
I am an Existential psychotherapist and counselling psychologist with a background in psycho-oncology and rare disease services, where I’ve supported people navigating uncertainty, identity shifts and life-altering diagnoses. Working in these spaces has shaped my practice with steadiness, honesty and deep respect for the complexity of people’s lives.
Alongside this, I’m deeply interested in how lived experience, culture and society shape the way we understand ourselves. Many of the people I work with feel pulled between different roles or expectations, or find themselves wondering, “How did I get here?”. Some appear to be coping well on the outside, but feel anxious, disconnected or quietly overwhelmed.
Working with me is collaborative and engaged. I aim to create a space where you feel genuinely met not judged, rushed or analysed from a distance. I listen carefully and think with you. I am warm and containing, but also direct when something feels important to acknowledge and explore. If patterns are keeping you stuck, we will look at them together. I believe challenge, when offered thoughtfully, is part of care.
My intent in therapy is to help you understand yourself more fully and move forward in a way that feels congruent, grounded and authentically yours. If you’re curious about whether we might be a good fit, I’d be glad to hear from you. An initial conversation can help us explore that together. You can also read more about me and my approach on my website.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
