My Approach

I am trained in existential phenomenological psychology and psychotherapy. I also draw on ACT and Mindfulness.

About Me

I am an Existential psychotherapist and counselling psychologist with a background in psycho-oncology and rare disease services, where I’ve supported people navigating uncertainty, identity shifts and life-altering diagnoses. Working in these spaces has shaped my practice with steadiness, honesty and deep respect for the complexity of people’s lives.

Alongside this, I’m deeply interested in how lived experience, culture and society shape the way we understand ourselves. Many of the people I work with feel pulled between different roles or expectations, or find themselves wondering, “How did I get here?”. Some appear to be coping well on the outside, but feel anxious, disconnected or quietly overwhelmed.

Working with me is collaborative and engaged. I aim to create a space where you feel genuinely met not judged, rushed or analysed from a distance. I listen carefully and think with you. I am warm and containing, but also direct when something feels important to acknowledge and explore. If patterns are keeping you stuck, we will look at them together. I believe challenge, when offered thoughtfully, is part of care.

My intent in therapy is to help you understand yourself more fully and move forward in a way that feels congruent, grounded and authentically yours. If you’re curious about whether we might be a good fit, I’d be glad to hear from you. An initial conversation can help us explore that together. Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

No one ever expects to be told they have the "big C" and it can be a really frightening time full of uncertainty, anger, and sadness. I have been working in the NHS with patients, relatives and carers affected by cancer for many years and have had the privilege of supporting individuals through some of the hardest times of their lives.
I am passionate about supporting those living with chronic and rare conditions in both clinical practice and through advocacy work.
Culture, race, and lived experience shape our sense of self, our relationships, and the ways we navigate life’s transitions. These questions have been central to my own life and thinking, and they naturally come up in my work with clients. Whether it’s exploring identity, negotiating conflicting expectations, or understanding how cultural background intersects with stress, grief, or major life changes, I aim to create a space where these conversations can happen openly and thoughtfully. I draw on both my professional experience in complex health and life transitions and my own lived experience to support clients in making sense of who they are, how they relate to the world, and what feels authentic for them.
