I help clients experiencing difficulty or dissatisfaction in their lives, to come into a better relationship with themselves, through a process of supportive enquiry.
This approach can address many forms of difficulty including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, addiction, relationship difficulties and burn-out.
A basic understanding in psychotherapy is that difficulties arise from an inner disconnection and loss of a sense of healthy relationship both within oneself and with others in the world.
Often this disconnection might have arisen in early life where one’s capacity to manage difficult experience was overwhelmed.
I support a client in a process of mindful enquiry that is a way of coming more into relationship with what feels difficult or stuck as well as connecting with what supports well-being and health.
As someone's capacity to be with a wider range of emotions increases, they may touch on deeper feelings of vulnerability but at the same time develop a greater emotional resilience.
Over time a client will develop greater understanding of themselves and their patterns of behaviour and begin to gradually free themselves from habitual ways of being that have outlived their usefulness.
This work takes time, but there are real rewards including a greater connection with one’s own energies and a greater capacity to meet life's challenges.
I offer an introductory half hour meeting as a way of exploring whether it would feel right to have some regular weekly sessions.
