About Me:
With a private practice spanning over 20 years, I work with individuals, couples and families in facilitating, exploring and working through a diverse range of issues eg: depression, anxiety, anger, relationship and separation issues, drug and alcohol issues, eating disorders, as well as individual and cultural identity issues. I also have a depth of experience in working with individuals dealing with loss, bereavement and unresolved childhood issues, including childhood abuse, trauma and a wide and cross variety of mental health issues.
I am a registered member of the UKCP and a Relate Accredited Couples Counsellor. My life experiences (including my business experiences and acumen), academic achievements and personal interests, have all provided me with a rich and diverse pool of knowledge, awareness and understanding, which informs my work. I have an integrative and transpersonal approach, and have developed a multi-cultural and multi-faith practice.
In addition to my work with individuals, couples, and families, I also work with mental health organisations, as well as the legal profession. I supervise a wide range of professionals working in the mental healthcare: both physicians, nursing staff, as well as the legal and teaching professions.
The qualities I bring into my therapeutic and supervisory relationships are of helping to cultivate and facilitate self-examination, concentration and awareness of the issues which created the obstacles that bring people to seek my help and mentoring and coaching, and then to facilitate change.
My practice is located in Hillingdon, Uxbridge, Middlesex, which has excellent links to road, tube, rail and bus networks.

Profile & Summary:
• With an abundance of personal experiences and clinical expertise, I work with my clients as they explore and work through a wide range of issues eg: depression, anxiety, anger, drug and alcohol issues, eating disorders, marital, relationship and separation issues, as well as individual and cultural identity issues. I also have a depth of experience in working with individuals dealing with loss, bereavement and unresolved childhood issues, including childhood abuse, trauma and a wide and cross variety of mental health issues.
• The qualities I bring into my therapeutic and supervisory relationships are of helping to cultivate and facilitate self examination, concentration and awareness to the issues which created the obstacles that bring people to seek my help. This is done by working through, processing and removing internal and external conflict, as well as understanding individual, relationship, family, and societal differences and the challenges of living within a multi-faceted society. My endeavour is to aid in facilitating greater awareness and creating unity of the physical, emotional and mental foundation of our lives, which is through developing mental and emotional well-being, attitude and character, and then to facilitate change.
• My work in couples counselling is in helping to work through the relationship challenges couples face ie: individual conflict and confrontation; understanding and exploring differences, especially in better understanding individual and family dynamics; how to deal with changes and their sources; processing loss and grief, difficulties in sexual relations and working through the effects of affairs.
• My work with couples who are parents, is to aid in a better understanding of individual and family dynamics in order to meet the emotional, psychological and ever changing needs of their children.
• My therapeutic work with adolescents has provided me with extensive experience of working with children and the family unit. I have worked with the NHS PCTs and the legal profession (ie: with legal guardians, solicitors, judges and the courts), my goal is to ensure the individual’s emotional and psychological needs are met, paramount and considered at all times.
• As well as my experience as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I have many years of experience of working within global corporate organisations (IT, Finance, and Global Pharmaceutical organisations). This experience informs my work on the intricacies of corporate cultural identities, group systems and dynamics and working with and understanding the pressures and stress caused during working within such organisations.
• Personal interests include Kyudo (Japanese Archery known as ‘The Way of the Bow’). Kyudo is a Japanese martial art practice, which is not only a recreational activity, but a means for self examination and understanding oneself. At a symbolic level, the practice of Kyudo is about developing insight into the complex interplay between mind and body, and seeking harmony and peace within the individual and within relationships in life. It aids in facilitating working through and processing internal and external conflict. The qualities of Kyudo become accessible through the cultivation of self examination, concentration and awareness, not only at an individual level, but also at a collective group level. This leads to greater awareness of the true unity of the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual foundation of our lives; which in turn leads towards developing mental and emotional well-being, attitude and character. It has also been known as Standing Zen. I am a 4th Dan (Yon Dan) Archer.
• Other interests include Shodo, the Japanese art of Calligraphy (or the Way of Writing). Another Zen practice, which develops practitioners to not only understand the form and practice of calligraphy, but also to develop the practice of stillness and to clear the mind, allowing emptiness (mushin) and thus allow the beauty of the hieroglyphs to flow out themselves. Its connection to Zen philosophy stresses a connection to the spiritual and facilitates harmony and beauty.
