My Approach

Central to my work is a strong working relationship with the client, which we build from the first session. At the first session, I listen to your issues and discuss your goals in therapy. It is an interactive relationship, in which I will ask clarifying questions and give you relevant feedback. I like the first six sessions to be weekly, to help the process of getting to know each other. I build in regular reviews to ensure you are happy with the therapy and the way we are progressing towards your aims.

About Me

I am a humanistic, integrative psychotherapist. I have been practising for over 20 years, currently in Bath; previously in London and East Sussex. I work with individual adults and couples. I work face-to-face mainly, though I also work online. I also have a qualification in Supervision, working with trainee counsellors and psychotherapists and qualified practitioners.

I work with

  • Couples
  • Groups
  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I am very experienced in working with abuse survivors, particularly women coming out of an abusive relationship. I also work with survivors of child abuse, those experiencing bullying whether at work or elsewhere.
Working with couples can be very rewarding. I see couples - whether they are married, partners, friends, work colleagues, siblings or parent/child. We look at how your relationship works or does not work and explore the issues affecting it.
Although your childhood is relevant to the work, it provides a backdrop to our exploration of your issues, rather than offering an analysis or "cause and effect" conclusion. We look at childhood trauma, which is approached with sensitivity and care. We can then explore how it affects you in the here and now and how you can manage its sometimes destructive effects on your life.
