I qualified as a Family & Systemic Psychotherapist in 2017 after four years training at the Tavistock Centre in London. Before that, I obtained a degree in Mental Health Nursing in 2001 and have worked in the NHS ever since, mostly in Child & Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS). I am based in Dunstable in Bedfordshire and offer face to face and online sessions. I am a member of the Association of Family Therapists, registered with the UKCP and hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate. I also regularly attend workshops and training courses as part of my continuing professional development and have monthly clinical supervision. I use systemic ways of working which consider a person’s wider context including family relationships, community and their position in society however I also integrate other approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy, non violent resistance and narrative ideas. I am experienced in working with anxiety, depression, stress, panic, attachment difficulties, trauma and many other difficulties and work in a way that is practical, non-blaming and down-to-earth, matching my style of working to the needs of the person or family, helping them to recognise their own skills at finding solutions to their difficulties. I’m happy to work with teenagers, adults, couples or whole families. Free 15 minute initial telephone consultation offered. Fees are £70 per hour for individuals and £90 per hour for couples and families.
