I am a Neurodivergent UKCP-registered Psychotherapist. The psychotherapy modality I use is Transactional Analysis which has its roots in Psychodynamic and Humanistic psychotherapy and shares similarities with Schema therapy.
Transactional Analysis (TA) examines an individual's personality and how experiences have shaped this. This means I can help clients understand the root of their issues and therefore make lasting changes.
During the therapy sessions, I incorporate various models, techniques, and tools to teach clients and couples how to become aware of their patterns of behaviour, thoughts, and feelings. This helps clients to become aware of how they communicate with others resulting in resolving conflict and misunderstandings. I also help my clients to set boundaries that promote living authentically, build their self-esteem, avoid burnout, and help them to become clear about their values and belief systems.
I have worked with clients presenting with complex issues such as BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder), OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) Autism, Bereavement, and Loss. Being neurodiverse, I am particularly interested in working with clients with neurodiversity and have extensive clinical experience working with university students and professionals. Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I was a Lecturer in Further and Higher Education. Alongside my clinical work, I run Mental Health consultation workshops for organisations and group therapy sessions.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
