I believe we all have a right to live a fulfilling life, experience joy and connection, and expressing our creativity.
I believe we all matter and have a specific purpose in fully living who we are.
Often life throws us a curve ball and we duck or close down or run away. At times we don’t even know we split off.
We all have survival techniques, these are important, and there are also ways we can shift, and transform to feel our fullness as a human being.
We might feel broken, but that doesn’t mean wholeness is not around.
Often in brokenness we discover a sense of our uniqueness. At times we just need a committed listener, a sounding board, a naming of something, that opens the door.
Sometimes a small movement or a vague memory becomes an entry point to gathering those parts we have lost along the way.
We talk, we laugh, we cry, we listen, we dream together, we experience a place in nature we love, and in this way we move closer to loving ourselves.
I've been working with clients and couples since 2013. What happens in sessions remain confidential, unless it becomes apparent there might be danger to yourself or another. I expect you to take responsibility for yourself and will support you where I can to name and express places where you struggle.
I facilitate and support clients from an understanding and exploration of my own experience, informed by 10 years of study in Process Work and having done trainings in attachment theory, trauma informed practice, relationship work and Therapy in Motion.
I work with dreams, relationship between internalised parts in conflict, couples struggling with different communication styles and histories, roles in groups and organisations and how this impacts the way we behave and feel about ourselves in a group.
We find a dream door, often an unintended element, movement or pattern and unfold the mystery allowing the wisdom to speak through our bodies.
We follow sensory-based experiences and might talk, dance, roll around, sing, draw or dream.
I approach each session with curiosity, compassion, non-judgement and a love for the complexity of our humanness.
I currently work mostly on zoom, though offer in person sessions in Linlithgow, Scotland
I am a Process Oriented Psychotherapist, and did a rigorous training with Processwork UK over 10 years that challenged me deeply and provocatively to become more of who I am. I get regular supervision and all personal content will be kept confidential.
In sessions we explore habitual patterns and allow possible new ways of being. This can be in conversation, movement or whatever else shows up in the moment.
We might work with words, with dreams, altered states, interoceptive body sensations, and much more. You bring a topic or issue you want to work on (be it a relationship issue; trauma; recurring body symptoms; a night time dream; a creative project you feel stuck with)
I offer one to one sessions where we explore in the moment what information becomes available that you might need in your life or for a project.
I work with couples who want to explore their relationship ( the good, the bad, the amazing and the myth of the relationship). With groups and organisations we unfold the major themes in the group's psyche trusting the wisdom of the group body.
One to one and couple sessions are an hour long - we work for 50 minutes. For couples it could be longer (we agree sessions individually). Sometimes it will be one session that evokes a deep experience, sometimes it becomes a longer journey you take. The cost for a one to one session is £45 (there is a sliding scale available, for low wage, and also if you book 4 consecutive sessions). Please ask me. The cost for couples will be £40 each, sliding scale is available for low wage. I work in Edinburgh and Linlithgow in person or online on zoom globally.
