I am an integrative therapist who draws from a variety of different therapeutic modalities. I work with a mix of psychodynamic and existential models. Sessions are client-led, meaning the content and pace of the work is set by you. My approach is relational, meaning I will help you to understand your patterns of relating to others and how this affects your sense of self. Particular attention may be paid to early attachments in childhood and how this impacts current behaviours and relationships. I believe that the therapeutic relationship represents the cornerstone of therapy. It is in the experience of a relationship in which one feels understood and inspired to understand oneself that is ultimately most therapeutic.
I completed five years of training in psychotherapy at Regents University London, a leading training institution in the fields of Psychology and Psychotherapy. I have a Masters and Postgraduate Certificate in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling.
I have worked at a variety of clinical settings including Women and Health, an NHS-affiliated mental health organisation in North London, MIND in Camden and at private therapy clinics Farah Therapy Centre in Kensington and Circle Psychology Partners in East Dulwich.
I am a full clinical member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and abide by their code of ethics. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Psychotherapy and Counselling and am fully insured to practice.
I am mixed British/Chinese and grew up in Hong Kong. Before retraining as a psychotherapist, my career was in the field of political risk, with a focus on China. I also hold an MSc in Asian Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies and an MA in Chinese Studies from Cambridge University.
