My Approach

I am always led by you, were you are and what you want and my main approach is Transactional Analysis

TA is a theory of personality; it is a humanistic approach to understanding:
 How people communicate
 How people grew up and what their beliefs are about themselves and others
 How people view the world

TA is based on three principles:
1. That people are OK – by this we mean that individuals are of intrinsic value and have a right to exist
2. That everyone has the capacity to think – by this we mean that people can take in information, consider options and make decisions
3. That anyone can change, in other words we all have the capacity to grow and learn

About Me

Hello, my name is Sarah, a psychotherapist and Certified Transactional Analyst in Psychotherapy.

Everyone can face challenges and difficulties in life sometimes and I believe in offering a safe space for individuals to explore and overcome these, in order they can live the life they most want to live.

I am experienced in 1:1 and group therapy both offer the opportunity to grow. I work with the therapeutic relationship (you and me) to help people realise their full potential, process losses and begin to live free from repeated destructive behaviours.

Having had numerous support roles, including work in the criminal justice system since 2011 I specialise in the treatment of addiction not only to substances but behavioural addictions too. I am trauma informed and have a sound understanding of mental illness. My areas of interests are grief, codependency, symptoms of trauma, spirituality, anger, fear and shame.

I am based in a small country village on the edge of Luton Bedfordshire. I offer both face to face or remote sessions via Zoom or telephone making access to therapy easier for many people. Contact me to arrange a free 30 minute initial consultation.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Addiction is a controversial label, used only for ease to say if you wish to explore your relationship with a substance or behaviour that is causing difficulties in your life.
Loss of people, places and things can be confusing, both 'all-encompassing yet non-existent, painful and yet liberating, dark and yet light, I can walk beside you, at your pace as you take the journey through your experience
Any trauma big or small can live within our bodies long after the event/s, limiting our capacity to thrive in life. Some people do not believe their situation / event to be traumatic but somehow it is still causing them distress - I believe it is possible to to work through these in order to reach your full potential
I have experience of working with people in prison and on probation for with a variety of offending including sexual offences, I provide a non-judgemental and safe space
I am passionate to provide a safe space in which you can explore your relationship with spirituality, whatever that means to you - sometimes words are not enough to fully encapsulate what we feel spiritually and that is OK too
