My Approach

As a practitioner I have been part of multidisciplinary teams and I am passionate about integrating and raising awareness of dance movement psychotherapy as an intervention of value. My approach is client centred, integrative, psychodynamic, relational, systemic and Trauma Informed

I have also worked within the following psychotherapeutic models: humanistic/existential, psychoanalytical, psychodynamic, recovery, developmental and attachment, systemic, mindfulness.

About Me

I am clinically experienced in counselling and psychotherapy with children, youth. adolescent and adults, I offer private practice for individuals, couples and groups for adults, children and young persons in the following areas: depression and anxiety, NHS/community acute and enduring mental health, family, parent and child issues, depression, panic disorder, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, domestic abuse, occupational/life stress, addiction/substance abuse recovery, autistic spectrum/developmental delay, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia, learning issues, persons experiencing domestic violence, refugees, forensic, eating disorder and self harm. I hold NSPCC working with children and young people and online safety certificates, safeguarding, first aid and various continued professional development, including working with emotional regulation informed by polyvagal theory. I use verbal and nonverbal approach in any combination to meet my clients needs and communicate through co-creating solutions together.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I work with Neurodiversity with the understanding of what it means to fit into a system designed for the neurotypical especially within education and institutions. I believe in exploring nature and other creative resources to help balance busy lives and pressures on our nervous systems.
I work with depression and anxiety, viewing them as responses to stressful lives and situations
I have spent 4 years working specifically with acute mental health and 10 years working with enduring mental health.
I run a hybrid practice which means that I can provide online psychotherapy for individuals and groups.
I have worked for a trauma charity for 8 years and regularly work with Trauma in my private practice. I am trained in working with the polyvagal system and emotional stabalisation.
