As an integrative therapist, I draw from different schools of thought to best suit the issues that you bring. I see therapy as a collaborative process where we find ways to help you make sense of your experiences, feelings and behaviours.
Concepts that inform my work include psychodynamic theory and attachment theory with their emphasis on the impact of the early years and early relationships on development and later life. My practice is embodied, which means that I use information the body may hold about emotions and experiences. Finally, I work in a relational way: I see our relationship as the cornerstone of the therapeutic work.
I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor offering therapy to individuals in English or French, in person, online or on the phone. I can help with issues including relationship problems, work stress, anxiety and depression, trauma. People come to my practice seeking support with low mood or low self-esteem, feeling stuck in a life crisis or a new challenge. Therapy offers a calm and confidential space to stop and reflect, to regroup and to look for a way through.
Alongside my private practice, I have worked for many years with local charities providing bereavement support to the South London community. I have also worked with an NHS charity trust supporting individuals and staff bereaved during the Covid 19 pandemic.
Bereavement is one of my specialisms, however, I am interested more widely in the issue of loss, This could be it a loss of opportunity, loss of place or loss of identity due to changing circumstances or a past trauma perhaps. Grieving is at the heart of the human experience, yet it can feel a frightening process.
I hold a Masters and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy from The Minster Centre in London, sanctioned by Middlesex University. I am a member of the UKCP and abide by their code of ethics, including the use of regular supervision with an external consultant and personal investment in my continued professional development.
Face-to-face sessions take place at my practice in a leafy suburb in South London. It is located a five minutes walk from West Wickham station, in proximity to Beckenham, Bromley, Croydon, Shirley and Hayes, Direct trains run to/from London with connections to Lewisham, London Bridge, London Waterloo East and Charing Cross.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
