My Approach

I work with adults on a one to one basis for either short term counselling or long-term psychotherapy. Talking therapy can give you space to explore and understand a deeper sense of yourself and the issues you face. The aim of the work is so that you can empower yourself towards change and your full potential.

IN PERSON & ON-LINE THERAPY
I see clients face to face in my private therapy room which is located in the Teddington/Hampton Hill area (TW11) close to Richmond upon Thames and Twickenham. I also offer an on-line counselling and psychotherapy service for clients seeking a remote talking therapy service. If you are interested, I would suggest a short chat about your needs would be a great place to start. This will also give me an opportunity to answer any questions or concerns you may have about working in this way. There is no fee for this initial chat.

About Me

I am a warm, experienced, UKCP registered psychotherapist and qualified counsellor. I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space where you can express and explore whatever is going on in your life. I am experienced in working with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, bereavement and relationship issues.

I am also a certified Transactional Analyst. I believe Transactional Analysis psychotherapy can help clients achieve change on many different levels. I work with clients cognitively, behaviourally and relationally which has a range of advantages in that it offers different ways of working that can tackle different issues. For example, it allows us to work together to help you to understand your anxiety, raise your awareness so you can start to see when and why it is triggered.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
You may find it easier to talk about your personal, family or relationship issues with an independent and professional psychotherapist. You can expect one or a series of weekly confidential, professional face to face sessions which last 50 minutes, each held in a private, confidential and comfortable setting.

Talking with a counsellor or psychotherapist offers space to help identify the choices for change and to make sense of individual circumstances.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU?
Sessions might involve you talking about life events, your feelings and emotions, your relationships, how you think, along with your patterns of behaviour. You will be supported so that you can begin to understand yourself better and to find your own solutions, to mobilise change or engage with your situation more compassionately.

Please contact me here to arrange an introductory session to see how talking therapy may help you. I may also be able to help with questions or queries about counselling and psychotherapy via e-mail. The phone number is a confidential number, so please feel free to leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINEES
If you are seeking a personal psychotherapist to support you through your psychotherapy training, then please contact me for more information about how we might work together. When working with psychotherapy trainees I see one student per class only. Concession rate for trainee counsellors and psychotherapists - £65 (50 minute session).

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I specialise in seeing clients who suffer from general anxiety. Anxiety can be crippling and reduce a person’s ability to function on a day to day level effectively often escalating into panic attacks which can be very frightening. I believe anxiety can stop someone from realising their full potential in life and I am committed to offering a service to help those who want a more fulfilling lifestyle but do not know how to achieve this or why things get in their way.
Losing a loved one through death or relationship breakup can be devastating, confusing and lonely. You may experience many feelings including anger, sadness and depression. You might feel you have no-one who understands how you feel; you might feel isolated or find others expect you to ‘get over it’ before you are ready. Or you may simply just want space to cry. Bereavement counselling can offer much needed support as you navigate and come to terms with your loss.
Depression can have a major impact on daily life, negatively affecting how you feel, think and behave. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities and pastimes you may have once enjoyed. Depression is often associated with bereavement, a loss of something important like a relationship or job or associated with chronic illness. Counselling can offer support during difficult and stressful periods when depression takes hold.
These are challenging times and I recognise that clients need more support than ever. I currently offer on-line counselling and psychotherapy for clients who reside in the UK seeking a talking therapy service. If you are interested, I would suggest a short chat about your needs would be a great place to start. This will also give me an opportunity to answer any questions or concerns you may have about working in this way.
I currently have availability for students in training seeking a personal psychotherapist. I am a CTA level Transactional Analyst and MSc level Psychotherapist. I offer a concession rate for trainees.
