My Approach

I work with adults on a one-to-one basis, offering both short-term counselling and long-term psychotherapy. Talking therapy provides a space to explore and gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the challenges you face. My goal is to support you in empowering yourself to create meaningful change and reach your full potential. My approach is rooted in Transactional Analysis, a modality that focuses on thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help uncover internal processes that may be holding you back, while also exploring your interpersonal relationships.

In-Person and Online Therapy
I offer face-to-face sessions in my private therapy room, located in the Teddington/Hampton Hill area (TW11), near Richmond upon Thames and Twickenham. For those seeking remote support, I also provide online counselling and psychotherapy services.

If you’re interested, I recommend starting with a short, no-fee chat about your needs. This conversation will allow us to discuss how therapy might support you and address any questions or concerns you may have about the process.

About Me

I am a compassionate and experienced UKCP-accredited psychotherapist and qualified counsellor. I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where you can explore and share what’s happening in your life. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, panic attacks, bereavement, and relationship challenges. I also have significant experience supporting individuals who are childless not by choice, as well as adults navigating the complexities of part-time caregiving for elderly relatives. Additionally, I have a special interest in helping clients who identify early emotional trauma or neglect as factors contributing to anxiety and low self-esteem in their adult lives.

I am a certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) and believe that Transactional Analysis psychotherapy can facilitate meaningful change on multiple levels. My approach integrates cognitive, behavioural, and relational techniques, offering a versatile framework to address a variety of challenges. For example, we can work together to deepen your understanding of anxiety, helping you identify its triggers and develop greater awareness to manage it more effectively.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Many people find it easier to discuss personal, family, or relationship challenges with an independent and professional psychotherapist. I offer weekly, confidential 50-minute sessions, either face-to-face or remotely, in a private and comfortable setting. These sessions provide a supportive space to explore your circumstances, make sense of your experiences, and identify meaningful choices for change.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU?
Sessions provide an opportunity to explore life events, emotions, relationships, thought patterns, and behaviors. With my support, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, discover your own solutions, and work towards change or a more compassionate engagement with your situation.

To get started, please contact me to arrange a free initial telephone consultation to discuss how therapy might support you. If you decide to proceed, I offer an introductory session at a reduced rate. Following this, we can begin a six-session exploratory phase to build rapport and determine if we are a good fit for ongoing work together. You can reach me on my confidential phone number—feel free to leave a message, or email me and I’ll get back to you promptly.

COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINEES
If you are looking for a personal psychotherapist to support you during your psychotherapy or counselling training, please feel free to reach out to discuss how we might work together. I offer a concession rate for trainee counsellors and psychotherapists at £67.50 per 50-minute session.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I specialise in supporting clients who struggle with general anxiety. Anxiety can be debilitating, interfering with daily life and sometimes escalating into panic attacks, which can feel overwhelming and frightening. It can also prevent individuals from reaching their full potential, leaving them uncertain about how to overcome obstacles or create a more fulfilling life. I also work with clients experiencing depression, which can profoundly affect how you feel, think, and behave. Depression often coexists with anxiety and may lead to feelings of sadness, a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed, or difficulty coping with everyday life. It can be linked to bereavement, significant losses such as a relationship or job, or even chronic illness. Psychotherapy provides a supportive space to navigate these challenging and stressful periods, helping you work through the impact of anxiety and depression while finding ways to move forward.
Losing a loved one, whether through death or the end of a relationship, can be an incredibly devastating, confusing, and lonely experience. You may feel a range of emotions, including anger, sadness, or depression, and it can be difficult to find someone who truly understands what you’re going through. You might feel isolated or sense pressure from others to “move on” before you’re ready. Sometimes, you may just need a safe space to grieve and let your emotions flow. Bereavement counselling provides compassionate support to help you process your feelings and begin to navigate life after your loss.
I provide dedicated support for clients who are childless not by choice, offering a compassionate space to process the complex emotions and challenges this can bring. Being childless can result from a variety of circumstances, including early-onset menopause, unsuccessful IVF treatments, or the heart-wrenching decision to terminate for medical reasons (TFMR). Each experience is deeply personal and can carry feelings of grief, loss, isolation, or even shame. In our work together, I aim to help you explore these emotions, make sense of your experiences, and find a way to move forward with compassion and resilience. For example, we might work on addressing the impact of societal expectations, managing triggers such as family gatherings or friends’ pregnancy announcements, or rebuilding a sense of identity and purpose beyond parenthood. My goal is to support you in finding acceptance and creating a fulfilling and meaningful life in the face of these profound challenges.
These are challenging times, and I understand that clients may need more support than ever. I currently offer online counselling and psychotherapy for clients based in the UK who are seeking a remote talking therapy service. If you're interested, I recommend starting with a brief chat about your needs. This will provide an opportunity for us to discuss how therapy might help you and allow me to address any questions or concerns you may have about working online.
I currently have availability for trainee counsellors and psychotherapists seeking personal therapy as part of their training. With experience working with students in training, I understand the unique challenges and requirements of this journey. As a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) and MSc-level UKCP accredited Psychotherapist, I provide a supportive space to explore personal development and self-awareness, essential aspects of your training and practice. I also offer a concession rate specifically for trainees.
