My Approach

I have been working closely with many children and young people in therapeutic environments for over 6 years and I work for a charitable organisation providing counselling services to young people. These children and young people had severe emotional and behavioural problems as a result of attachment difficulties usually rooted in early life trauma.
Throughout my therapeutically informed practice I worked with children and young people from the age of 6 to 17. In my clinical practice I offer support with issues such as: anxiety, depression, anger, sexualised behaviours, different forms of abuse and neglect, aggression and violence, breakdown of relationships and family relationships.
I am committed to offering a safe environment for children and young people to have a voice, feel heard non-judgementally and understood with compassion. Life can be complicated and it is alright to ask for help when it can become too difficult to cope. My work focuses on building a positive relationship that is confidential, nurturing and emphatic to help your child/young person manage difficulties that might be impacting on how they relate with others in their life and help them to work out life’s complications. I am passionate about the counselling that I offer and with the time and space needed to reflect on past and present issues and experiences, I can work with your child/young person to become more aware of what is really going on and help them move on.

About Me

Hello and welcome. My name is Roxana and I am a qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I am a registered member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) which means that I abide by a strict ethical framework to make sure that I am working ethically, safely and to the best of my ability with my clients. I undergo regular supervision and attend courses and carry out further reading to make sure that I have the best knowledge I can to assist the therapeutic process. I work with children and young people age 6 to 17.

Life can be challenging and although we are often able to navigate through these difficult times unaided, there may come a point when some little extra help and support might be needed. I offer a safe, caring and confidential space in which children or young people can explore what is causing them distress.

Counselling is a way of exploring issues, feelings, relationships and behaviours in order to improve wellbeing, feel listened to, and understood. I am passionate about my work and my aim is to help children and young people to make sense of their difficulties, whether emotional or relational, by helping them explore experiences and feelings they want to work through at their own pace and in a way that is tailored to their needs.
Counselling can be a step towards change and am more rewarding and fulfilling life. I offer short term and long term counselling in person, or via video call for older children and young people.
