I offer a boundaried and confidential space. I will listen and meet you where you are at, and give you time to talk through, explore and reflect upon what is troubling you or on your mind.
I work from a psychodynamic and relational perspective. Many of our ways of relating, our behaviours, and responses to life situations have their roots in our childhood experiences. These can often inform and shape our beliefs and lives in ways in which we may not always be aware of and lead us in directions and making choices that at times are not helpful, nor satisfying and may often leave us feeling stuck. I will listen and think with you to help make sense of your experiences and support you to find your own way of moving forward to make positive changes and develop more robust resources in facing the challenges that life can at times present us with.
I am a Group Analyst/Psychotherapist (UKCP reg.), Music Therapist (HCPC reg.) and supervisor.
I initially trained as a Music Therapist (HCPC reg.) and completed further training in clinical supervision and as a Group Analytic Psychotherapist (UKCP reg.). I have been working therapeutically with adults/older adults providing individual and group therapy for over twenty years. This has been in a variety of settings and organisations including the NHS mental health/learning disabilities, hospice care, higher education and voluntary sector. My experience has included providing reflective practice for staff teams and clinical supervision to arts therapists and counsellors.
I work face-to-face, providing individual psychotherapy and group analytic psychotherapy in Cardiff.
