My Approach

My approach is integrative, drawing on a range of therapeutic models and theories to tailor intervention to the unique needs of each child or young person. I believe in the power of creative methods, play and the use of metaphor as transformative tools for exploring emotions and experiences. I have a relational approach meaning that I prioritise building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients as a primary tool for healing.

About Me

I am a humanistic, integrative psychotherapist with a specialism in children and young people. I have a background in Occupational Therapy, holding a bachelor's degree in the field, which has proven invaluable in my therapeutic work. My experience in the NHS, along with my Psychotherapy work in services for adults recovering from domestic abuse and children who have been victims of crime or sexual abuse, has equipped me with a broad skill set, especially in trauma focused work.

I am passionate about supporting children and young people through the challenges they face today. In addition to trauma, I have experience working with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, OCD, sleep difficulties, bereavement, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, bullying, and family or relationship problems.
A core element of my work is a strengths-based approach, which focuses on building resilience and identifying the unique gifts and interests that each individual possesses. I strive to help children and young people recognise their own strengths and explore how they have already shown remarkable resilience in overcoming past difficulties. This empowers them to face future challenges with greater confidence and self-awareness.

With a particular interest in the neurobiology of trauma and somatic healing, I incorporate body-focused approaches to help regulate emotions and process difficult experiences, offering holistic support for emotional and psychological well-being.
