Life is rarely straightforward and it's not always easy to work things out on your own. Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to slow down and take a bit of time to look at what's happening. From there we can start to develop more awareness of how we think, feel and respond to relationships and the situations we find ourselves in.
Sometimes past circumstances can come to determine how we deal with things in the present. Psychotherapy aims to help us identify patterns and choose what to change. Working through issues in this way can create more choices in how we respond to others and the circumstances of our lives.
I have an MA in Psychotherapy having completed five years of training in Mindfulness-Based Core Process Psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute. I am accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I'm also a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I have experience of work in agency settings and I run a busy private practice. I engage in regular supervision and CPD to support my work.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
