My approach is warm, empathic and authentic. I believe it is my responsibility to support you to get to your own answers through the psychotherapy process. However, I do not take a ‘back seat’ in this process, I will work alongside you to help you make connections about your life, which in turn can lead to greater self awareness. I believe that it is through raising our self-awareness that we have the potential for growth and change.
Also trained as a yoga teacher, I am interested in a more embodied approach to therapy and when agreed, I integrate breath work, visualisation and meditation into therapy sessions.
I am a qualified psychotherapist offering face-to-face therapy to individuals on a short term and longer-term basis. I have practised in a variety of settings including the NHS, various counselling charities, The School of Life, and in private practice. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), the UK Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) and a member of the Metanoia Institute.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in the arts and charitable sectors, and it was my work for charities that first ignited an interest in becoming a therapist. I am passionate about psychotherapy and believe it assists us in better knowing who we are, what we need, and what we can do to bring about change.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
