My Approach

My core specialism is confidential, consultant-level addiction treatment for senior professionals: a discreet, one-to-one alternative to residential rehab, for people who cannot step away from their lives, who want treatment with no clinic footprint, or who have relapsed after previous stays. Having trained at the Hazelden Foundation, worked for nine years inside private residential rehab, and spent five years supervising private-rehab teams, I know that world from the inside, and I offer the depth of serious addiction work delivered within your own life, where recovery ultimately has to hold.

I am also a specialist in eating disorders, including the male eating disorders that are so often missed. This matters because the two frequently travel together: a great deal of addiction relapse is driven by an untreated eating disorder, and I treat both as the single problem they usually are.

Around this sits a broader integrative, depth-oriented practice, drawing on Jungian analysis, psychodynamic work, EMDR and art therapy, for the trauma, depression, anxiety and midlife or identity change that so often accompany addiction. I also provide psychotherapy-informed executive coaching. Sessions are available in person at Harley Street and online worldwide, in English and French.

About Me

Dr Philippe Jacquet is an integrative psychotherapist, Jungian analyst and addiction specialist based on Harley Street, London, with over 25 years of clinical experience. He trained as an addiction specialist at the Hazelden Foundation and Hope-One, spent nine years working within private residential rehabilitation, and has served for over five years as clinical supervisor to PROMIS Recovery Centre (London and Kent) and Cardinal Clinic, a private psychiatric hospital rated Outstanding by the CQC. Having both worked inside the leading private clinics and supervised them, he offers a credible, confidential alternative to residential rehab, and aftercare for those leaving one.

He is an EMDR Europe-accredited practitioner at the highest level and a trained art psychotherapist. He holds a Doctorate of Professional Practice and is the only person in Europe to have completed doctoral-level research specifically on male eating disorders. He is also a qualified executive coach trained at ESSEC Business School, ranked among Europe's top ten by the Financial Times. He works bilingually in English and French, in person at Harley Street and online worldwide.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Dr Jacquet qualified as an addiction specialist in 2003 following training at the Hazelden Foundation, one of the world's most respected centres for addiction treatment. He has since worked with individuals across the full spectrum of addictive presentations, including alcohol, cocaine, gambling, and sex addiction, offering both intensive and ongoing therapeutic support.
Dr Jacquet has been working with couples for over 25 years, supporting partners through relational difficulties, communication breakdown, infidelity, and major life transitions. His work with couples draws on psychodynamic and integrative principles to help partners develop deeper mutual understanding and more sustainable ways of relating.
Dr Jacquet holds a Doctorate of Professional Practice specifically focused on male eating disorders — the only such doctoral qualification in Europe. He works with all eating disorder presentations, including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder, and has particular expertise in the under-recognised and under-treated experiences of men with eating disorders.
Dr Jacquet brings an integrative and depth-orientated perspective to a wide range of mental health presentations, including depression, anxiety, OCD, and identity difficulties. Drawing on Jungian analysis, psychodynamic principles, and evidence-based approaches including EMDR, he works with clients to understand the underlying dynamics of their difficulties and support lasting, meaningful change.
