My Approach

I am an Accredited Psychotherapist, using Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) as my main model, providing structured CAT therapy or CAT informed psychotherapy. I'm also trained in Psycho-sexual and relationship therapy and Intermediate level CBT.
We've all had one life, the experiences we have shape and form us, and CAT is a very human, relational model, explicitly focussing on how we relate to ourselves, others and the world. At the heart of CAT is an empathic relationship between myself and clients, the purpose of which is to help make sense of your situation and to find ways of making changes for the better. I work collaboratively, alongside clients often using bespoke letters and diagrams. CAT was developed as a time concious, therefore a cost effective psychological treatment that helps us understand how our past experiences and relationships may influenced our current thoughts, emotions and behaviours. It is an integrative model bringing together ideas and understanding from different therapies into one user friendly and effective treatment, tailored to a person’s individual needs and goals for change.
