My Approach

You might be struggling with loss, living through the pain of bereavement, carrying wounds from trauma or abuse, or wrestling with deep existential questions that feel hard to name. Perhaps you find yourself stuck in old patterns, or burdened by stories that keep you from truly connecting with yourself or others.

My approach is rooted in creating a compassionate, holding space where you can safely explore what lies beneath the surface. Together, we’ll gently move past the immediate story to reach the core feelings and wounds that need attention—not pushing but allowing, not fixing but feeling.

I welcome survivors of trauma and abuse, those in mourning, and anyone navigating the complexities of loss or searching for meaning. I believe real change happens when we slow down and make space for what’s present inside—sitting together with what is painful, allowing it to be seen, felt, and, with time, healed.

If you’re ready to work at depth, to connect with what needs to be felt beneath the narrative, and to journey inward together, I invite you to reach out. My intention is to support you as you find new ways of being with yourself and your story.

About Me

I am an integrative psychotherapist taking a holistic, gentle, and empathic approach. I specialise in supporting people facing loss, bereavement, trauma, abuse recovery, and existential concerns, and create a safe, non-judgemental space to explore what’s truly happening beneath the surface.

I believe healing begins when we move beyond immediate stories or labels and connect with deeper emotions and core wounds. Together, we slow down, notice what’s present, and allow whatever arises to be felt, understood, and released at your pace.

Clients value my ability to stay alongside them in dark places, offering compassion and curiosity rather than quick fixes. My work draws on relational, integrative, and trauma-informed principles, tailored to your unique needs as they unfold.

If you’re ready to explore, understand, and heal what lies beneath, I welcome you to reach out so we can discover new ways of being with whatever you’re carrying.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

When working with anxiety, I provide a supportive environment where you can safely explore the thoughts, sensations, and patterns that contribute to your distress. I understand anxiety can feel overwhelming and isolating, affecting both mind and body. My approach is to help you gently identify triggers and underlying concerns, while also developing ways to ground yourself and find moments of calm. Together, we build understanding and resilience, focusing not just on symptom relief, but also on addressing root causes and strengthening your sense of agency and well-being.
Working with bereavement, I offer a compassionate space to gently process grief in all its forms—including pre-emptive loss, when you are anticipating a significant change or the passing of a loved one. I recognise that loss can evoke a wide range of emotions—sadness, anger, confusion, and sometimes even relief—and that each journey with grief is unique. My approach is to walk alongside you as you navigate these feelings, supporting you in expressing and honouring your experience at your pace. Together, we explore both the pain and the meaning that loss and grief can bring, helping you find ways to carry your memories, adjust to change, and gradually move forward while feeling supported and understood.
When working with survivors of domestic violence, I offer a deeply respectful and trauma-informed space where your safety, autonomy, and emotional well-being are prioritised. I understand the complex impact of abuse, including feelings of fear, confusion, shame, and loss of trust. My approach is gentle and paced to your needs, supporting you in reclaiming your voice, processing your experiences, and rebuilding self-worth. Together, we work to strengthen boundaries, heal emotional wounds, and empower you to move forward at your own pace, respecting your story and choices.
With online counselling, I offer the same compassionate, confidential support as in-person sessions, while providing the convenience and accessibility of meeting from your own space. I understand that connecting virtually can feel different at first, so I work to ensure our sessions are comfortable, secure, and tailored to your needs. Online counselling allows you to access therapy even if you have a busy schedule, mobility challenges, or prefer the privacy of your own environment. Together, we create a supportive relationship and work on your concerns in a way that fits your life. I have found that working online or even on the telephone extremely effective for many clients and if working online or on the telephone is your preference, I am very happy to hear from you.
When working with stress, I provide a calm and supportive space for you to slow down and explore what’s weighing on you. I understand that stress can manifest as overwhelm, irritability, difficulty coping, or feeling stuck. Stress sometimes damages relationships and impacts the ability to cope with life. My approach is to help you unpack the sources of your stress, identify patterns, and develop personalised strategies for managing demands. Together, we work towards restoring balance, strengthening your coping skills, and supporting you to reconnect with a sense of ease and control in your life.
