My approach is humanistic meaning I help my clients to find their own autonomy and pathway to peace and fulfilment in everyday life. I work holistically meaning that therapy explores the client's thinking, emotions and also body experiences. I use Transactional Analysis, Internal Family Systems and Somatic (body-based) awareness and interventions which I have been trained in. I am also able to help client with issues of meaning, identity and self-confidence having wider qualifications and an interest in existential-faith-spirituality issues. I welcome my client's openness is discussing what approach is most helpful for them and review the process regularly. I believe that change is possible at some level and that we can all experience greater ease and even enjoyment of life, even if our circumstances are very difficult or painful and this is what I help my clients to find.
I hold qualifications in TA (Advanced Diploma using Transactional Analysis), IFS (Level 1 certified), Somatic Psychotherapy (200YTT, ISTT Certificate) and Masters in Spirituality (MA) and Theology (MA, Oxon) and Mindfulness (Certificate).
Most importantly I meet my clients where they are at discerning and discussing what approach might be most helpful once we have had a session or two.
Whilst you are welcome to get in touch with any questions I also suggest booking in a 30 minute free introductory online session which can be a helpful way of working out if psychotherapy with me will be helpful for you.
I can help with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship, bereavement and other issues by offering empathy, insight and the possibility for empowerment and change. My approach is holistic and humanistic built on over 20 years experience of helping people using counselling, mindfulness, movement and psychotherapy.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
