My work is grounded in EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Schema Therapy.
Together, we make sense of how these patterns developed and why they continue, while working to shift the emotional experiences that drive them. Over time, this leads to a stronger sense of self, more open and honest communication, and a greater capacity for emotional and physical intimacy. As the work deepens, you may begin to feel more secure, more connected, and more at ease, both within yourself and in your relationships.
This work is an investment in yourself in your emotional wellbeing, your relationships, and the way you experience your life
]You find yourself stuck in patterns that don’t change whether it’s people-pleasing until you feel resentful, or the same arguments playing out again and again.
You overthink, over-give, or try to keep things steady, yet still things blow up and you end up feeling unseen, misheard, or not quite “enough.” Things escalate quickly, small moments turning into conflict, leaving you both hurt, frustrated, and disconnected.
Nothing really shifts. And over time, it starts to take its toll.
Relationships begin to feel exhausting, confusing, or painfully distant.
Often, these patterns have deeper roots, shaped by earlier experiences where your needs were not fully seen, understood, or met. Over time, this can also affect your experience of intimacy and sex. Showing up as a loss of desire, differences in libido, or a sense of pressure or anxiety around performance.
At times, it can feel as though you’ve become disconnected not only from your partner, but from yourself. In our work together, we begin to make sense of how these patterns developed and why they continue. From there, we work to shift the emotional experiences that drive them, allowing you to respond differently rather than being pulled into the same cycles.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
