My theoretical base is relational-developmental, which means I believe that understanding your past experiences and relationships and how your self was formed is key to making changes in the present. It is important that I understand the relationships that formed you and helped shape the person who sits in front of me. I integrate a range of complementary theories focusing on the integration of all aspects of personality – even those parts you may believe are unacceptable - and I believe an authentic therapeutic relationship is the key agent for change.
I’m a Masters-qualified psychotherapist, practising since 2015. I create a confidential, non-judgemental space in which you can be properly seen and properly heard.
As well as my private practice, I have practised psychotherapy in private counselling services and in a prison. I am open to seeing and understanding the full breadth and depth of human experience and would be pleased to speak to you about whether we might work together.
I am fully insured and have an enhanced DBS check. I have regular supervision and attend regular training to ensure I continue to develop my knowledge and understanding.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
