The main aim of my therapeutic work is to co-create a space with you that allows for an exploration into your experience of life, so that you may gain insight, appreciation & understanding of yourself, and support you in identifying where you are, and where you might want to be in a rapidly changing emotional, social & political landscape.
I feel that the relationship we build together will be integral to your self understanding, whereby my skills, knowledge, compassion, may support you in navigating the world and help you grow awareness & understanding of how you relate to yourself, people, and your environment, as well as what you may need to attend to in order to influence varying aspects of your life.
I offer both short & long therapy contracts, so the work we do together can be time limited or ongoing and open ended, with opportunities to review, depending on your expectations.
Please note that I am clinically supervised for all the clinical work I undertake.
I completed my psychotherapy training at the Metanoia Institute, qualifying as a Certified & Clinical Transactional Analyst & Psychotherapist at MSc level. As an integrative practitioner, I also tend to draw on various psycho-therapeutic models to support an individualised approach to therapy dependent on expectation and need. I see my self as a relational practitioner, whereby I am very present in the relationships I work within.
I have worked in a number of clinical settings including the NHS, as well as for various charitable organisations which has widened my personal & clinical knowledge of working with more marginalised groups in society whereby 'difference' has hindered the life experience of individuals, and has led to a range of trauma & personal crisis.
In light of my clinical experience, I aim to foster an environment whereby 'all' are included regardless of race, gender identity, sexuality, class, age, and disability, and I apply an intersectional lens to my work, always being mindful of the social, cultural, and political conditions on lived experience.
I have experience working with, but not limited to, a range of mental health conditions and diagnosis, themes around difference, identity, & diversity, substance & alcohol use (including chemsex engagement), LGBT+ themes, domestic violence, eating disorders, relationship issues, childhood trauma, issues relating to sex & libido, as well as themes that may arise at various existential stages of life.
I see myself as a reflective practitioner, and I endeavour to engage in continuous professional development to support my own personal and professional growth.
