As a Systemic Therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families to help them make sense of the challenges they face by exploring these within the context of their histories, current situations, and relationships. My aim is to create a safe, confidential space where you can talk about what matters most to you, and together, we can work towards your goals and hopes for the future. I help clients view problems relationally, offering multiple perspectives to understand recurring or stuck patterns. I have a particular interest in how family stories, cultural backgrounds, and relationships shape our view of the world. In my practice, I acknowledge the influence of cultural differences on people, and how these impact across generations.
I also offer parenting support grounded in the Non-Violent Resistance approach, which encourages parents to create a nurturing and understanding environment while addressing destructive or self-destructive behaviours of the young person. I strive to empower parents by providing compassionate support tailored to their unique needs, helping them cultivate positive relationships with their children through a warm, loving and containing parental presence.
I have a deep commitment to working with LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, families, and diverse relationship and family structures. I understand that navigating challenges related to sexual orientation, gender identity, relational and societal pressures can be complex, and I am dedicated to providing a safe, affirming, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their identities and experiences.
I offer online sessions with the possibility of in-person meetings in English or Greek.
I am a Systemic Psychotherapist originally from Greece, where I studied Psychology in the University of Athens, and I have spent the past 11 years living, studying and working in London. Currently, I am focused on developing my private practice and advancing my supervision skills, drawing on my extensive experience in working with diverse client groups.
In recent years, I have worked as a clinician with children, adolescents, and their families in a Social Care setting within a multicultural London borough. In this role, I collaborated closely with social workers, family practitioners, and other professionals to support families experiencing difficulties related to behaviour, relationship breakdowns, separation/divorce, school attendance/exclusion, criminal and sexual exploitation, bereavement, and more complex issues such as long-standing trauma and historic involvement with services. I also facilitated interventions for parents of children with destructive and self-destructive behaviours using the Non-Violent Resistance approach, which helps to raise the presence of adults in a young person's life in order to foster positive relationships. Additionally, I have provided consultations and supervision to Social Care professionals to help them reflect on and enhance their practice with families, and I have contributed to the teaching of Systemic Practice at various training institutes.
My journey into Family Therapy stemmed from my desire to work holistically with individuals, couples, and families. Through this training, I gained valuable insights and tools to support clients navigating complex emotional and relational dynamics. I have worked in Family Therapy Clinics within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Adult Mental Health services (focusing on eating disorders), and Social Care settings.
Earlier in my career, I worked in Special Education, supporting autistic children with significant communication, behavioural, and sensory difficulties. This experience shaped my understanding of behaviour as a form of communication, which continues to inform my therapeutic approach.
