About Me

After a challenging period in my own adolescence I went on to spend over ten years working with people who are homeless. I worked in a number of settings including hostels, drop in centres and street outreach.

Alongside my private practice I now work part time for a an Adoption charity and a foster care agency providing therapeutic support to foster carers and the children and adolescents that have joined their families.

I have lots of experience being alongside people who have experienced family and relationship breakdown, trauma, abuse, addiction, depression and anxiety, loss, and mental health issues.

I believe passionately that everyone should have a supportive, non-judgemental, attentive companion through life’s ups and downs. I have been lucky enough to have such allies, and I would like to offer this support to others.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Again my work with looked after children means I am experienced in working with the impact of abuse on individuals and families.
Alongside my private practice I work for Adoption UK and a fostering agency providing Didactic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). DDP is a therapy, parenting approach and model for practice that uses what we know about attachment and developmental trauma to help children and families with their relationships. Developing trust with the help of PACE, DDP provides interventions for families and those who support them.
I am very interested in families - how they can function as healthily as possible, how to recover from them when they don't, how to bring intergenerational patterns into awareness and make changes where you wish to, how to balance the needs of individuals, couples, children and the whole unit, and much more.
Recovering from developmental traumas, managing flashbacks and dissociation are an area in which I have benefitted from significant training thanks to my work with looked after children.
