I practice Gestalt psychotherapy, which focuses on present-centered awareness as a means of exploring my clients’ process in relation to both themselves and others. This does involve exploration of the past, but only so far as it feels relevant and lively in each client’s present life. Central to this approach is my belief that we are all the expert in our own experience, and that only you can know what is the best choice for you from moment to moment.
I have experience working with a range of psychological and emotional issues including anxiety, depression, loss, and relationship issues. I am particularly interested in working with clients who are looking to discover or renew a sense of meaning in their lives.
I work online via Zoom and face to face at my practice in New Cross, 7 minutes walk from New Cross station and a 10 minute walk from Deptford or New Cross Gate stations. I provide one-to-one therapy for adults. I work with clients on a weekly basis. At our first session, we can discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, how we might work together and your hopes and expectations for our work. Should you decide to continue, I usually suggest starting with at least 8 sessions, at the end of which we would have a review. For some people this will be enough, and for others they may wish to continue and go deeper into self exploration and relational insights.
My advice to clients looking for a therapist is to find someone you feel at ease with, who you get the sense of being able to trust and build a relationship with over time.
