If you are experiencing emotional or psychological difficulties and feel that exploring these would be beneficial or supportive to you, then I can be of help. I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential service to help you bring any issues you may be struggling with. I provide both long-term and short-term therapy and personal development work. I specialize in treating depression and anxiety, working with abuse, relationship difficulties, bereavement, anger problems and stress.
I aim to respond to you sensitively and respectfully, with awareness of cultural differences and your individuality. To help you to develop the support and insight necessary to enable the changes or choices that, on your own, may have seemed impossible up to this point in your life.
By exploring and responding to your experience – your thinking, feelings and emotions, I aim to support you to understand how they are all related. I pay attention to my own experience when I am with you too and use it to inform how you may be in relation to others. Patterns of your behaviour and the choices you make can then become clearer, be addressed and explored more deeply, with possibilities to bring about change then also becoming clearer.
I am a humanistic practitioner, with National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) accreditation and a post-graduate Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy (Welsh Psychotherapy Institute, Cardiff). My fees are £60 for Counselling/Psychotherapy. I sometimes have some concessionary places available.
I'm Matt, a fully qualified and experienced UKCP psychotherapist and counsellor. I’ve practised privately for 6 years and before that worked as a voluntary counsellor for Coping with Cancer in Leicester and Cedar Counselling in Birmingham since 2011. I have also worked with EAP providers and with patients via the West Midlands Cystic Fibrosis Centre based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital.
