My Approach

I offer a safe and confidential space and a therapeutic relationship to explore what's pushing you down or holding you back. We jointly explore how past experiences might present in the present and how to move on from them. If we think it is helpful and appropriate, we integrate EMDR to address trauma or emotional sources of points of stuckness. My practice is aware of trauma, LGBTQ issues, and neurodivergence. I find dreams a helpful way to tap into your unconscious knowledge and take an approach of us asking questions of the dream together to let its personal meaning for you emerge.

About Me

As a UKCP accredited integrative therapist with a background in (non-clinical) psychology research, I hold a balance between different theories and therapy approaches in line with your needs. Originally from Germany, I have previousy lived in the US before moving to London, where I have lived for more than 15 years. After a very academic stretch, I qualified as a teacher of the Alexander Technique (ATI), which gave me an entirely different, embodied and non-verbal access to knowledge that informs my therapy practice.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Exploring both diagnosed or suspected autistic experience and relationships, including relationships between (more) neurotypical and neurodivergent family members or partners, including challenges in emotion regulation, pervasive feelings of difference, sensory issues. Autistic (and ADHD) experience can overlap with trauma as well as give rise to trauma-like or traumatic experiences (emotional co-regulation, sense of isolation, being misunderstood or misunderstanding others) and we give space to exploring this impact and how to break some of these cycles.
I usually integrate EMDR into relational therapy if and when we feel this is appropriate, but I also work with EMDR in a more focussed way for specific single-event trauma presentations.
I work with those struggling with or questioning their sexuality, including later in life transitions, as well as with general issues facing everyone who is part of a sexual or gender presentation minority.
How we find or make meaning in this world.
Suicidal ideation, bereavement by suicide, and existential struggles.
