I offer an empathic, protected, non-judgmental environment to help my patients manage their psychological difficulties and make sense of and work through the issues that brought them to therapy.
Through a gentle exploration of my patient's history, memories and feelings, I aim to help them understand the root causes of behaviour and relational dynamics in order to help them deepen their understanding of themselves and alleviate suffering.
I favour exploring old familiar patterns and defences to enable my patients to make different choices and find better and more valuable defences.
I firmly believe that a collaborative and trusting relationship between me and my patients has a big impact on the treatment outcome. A collaborative working relationship involves a joint effort to explore and address the patient’s concerns, employing therapeutic techniques tailored to the individual’s unique needs.
I am a qualified psychoanalytic psychotherapist accredited with UKCP. I have years of experience in working with all kinds of emotional difficulties, including depression and anxiety.
I have a pluralistic approach, which enables me to draw upon a broad range of theories and psychoanalytic perspectives in the process of therapy.
I have also studied for many years at Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, and I have experience in parenting issues and working with mothers and new babies.
I offer short and long-term support as required both in person and online, and I maintain confidential practice whilst ensuring the safety of my patients.
