I am Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, though I use tools from Systemic therapy and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is a relational approach, which not only looks at the 'here-and-now' but looks back at your childhood. We learn how to form relationships based on our very early experiences, such as with our parents and siblings, extended family, or even school. By looking at patterns of behaviour that were formed then, we can make links to behaviours today, and understand better how you experience the world around you.
As children, we are highly intuitive, though may lack the cognitive understanding, or perhaps vocabulary, to process and express our thoughts and feelings. By working through your experiences, we create an understanding of your life, and therefore how it may be impacting you today, in order for you to make adjustments, should you wish to do so.
I provide (typically) weekly sessions for individual adults, and couples. I have a Batchelor of Science degree in Psychology, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and a Master of Science in Psychotherapy.
I offer a half-price initial assessment meeting. This gives me the opportunity to find out in more depth about your presenting concerns, whether I feel I can help you, and if I believe you would benefit from short-term or open-ended therapy. Additionally, this allows you the opportunity to discover if I am the right person for you to work with.
I work in person or online via Zoom. This means that no matter your location, we can meet.

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
