I am an existential psychotherapist who is interested in your experience of living. Whether you have experienced a life changing event, have a difficult situation you want to pay attention to, or if the source of your unrest is not known, I provide a space for compassion, curiosity and understanding. I will work with you to deepen your awareness of what it means to be you and how you experience the world you live in.
At the heart of my therapeutic approach lies the belief that the relationship between client and therapist is crucial for growth and self-discovery. I believe we learn about ourselves in relation to others and that therapy provides a unique opportunity for a connected relationship with another, and in turn with yourself. My approach is also one based on collaboration. Only you will truly know what your experience is, however together we can navigate the landscapes of your life. I will actively listen, encourage insightful reflection and provide support as you explore what matters to you. Any aspect of your lived experience can reveal deeper understandings of your challenges, strengths and aspirations.
As an existential psychotherapist I understand difficulties as part of living – how we relate to others, respond to our experiences and manage uncertainty – not everything can be ‘fixed’ but together we can make space to acknowledge and process your feelings, with a view to being free from the hold they may have on you.
Previously working in the Film and Television industry, I was always interested in people’s wellbeing and group dynamics on set. Alongside my work I completed a psychology degree, volunteered at the Samaritans and then committed to my psychotherapy training. I hold an MSC in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy, both from Regents University London. I adhere to the UKCP Ethical Framework and attend regular supervision and CPD.
I recognise that considering therapy may feel like a difficult first step and there can be many reasons that you may be seeking some help and support. I offer a 30 minute free online session where we will have the opportunity to meet and decide if we would like to work together.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
